I have to apologize again for waiting so long to update the blog. What can I say, I just let the time get away from me.... I didn't realize that so many people were reading it until I started getting e-mails from everyone yelling at me that it's been too long since the last update....
A lot has happened in the last month and a half and we all know how I like to ramble so I'll keep it as "to the point" as I can.... :)
For starters, we will be 34 weeks on Friday! WOW... I can remember when I was excited that we hit 20 weeks. LOL
The first week of May we flew to MN for my cousin Jana's wedding. It was SOOOO much fun. This was the first time that my mom has seen me since I started showing so it was very exciting to see her. As soon as she picked us up from the airport, she put her hands on my belly and Noah started moving right away for his Grandma!

It was great to see my entire family and so fun that they all got to see me pregnant.

Noah is extremely active so everyone got to feel him move. Uncle Jim and I even were comparing belly's. LOL

The wedding was perfect! Jana looked amazing and I am SOOO thankful that we were still early enough in the pregnancy to go.

My cousin Christine is getting married June 20th and it is too late for us to travel. I am sooo bummed that we are going to miss her wedding.
The weekend after Jana's wedding we had our first baby shower here in TN. A group of Shawn's friends that he used to bartend with threw us a shower. It was so much fun. We are so blessed to have such great friends.

Then the very next weekend, our neighbors threw us the most amazing baby shower ever!!! My mom, grandma and Aunt Cindy Durant all flew out for the shower which made it even more special! It was so fancy and my neighbor really went above and beyond. She ordered flowers for us and had beautiful decorations and sooo much food. It was just perfect. We had so many friends and neighbors there. It was just such a blessing. We got every single thing we needed. We even had so many friends and family from California that sent us gifts for the shower. Thank you all so much! It means the world to us that so many people care about us and are supporting us as we start our new family. Noah is one lucky baby!!!

Then my mom, grandma and Aunt Cindy took me to Babies-R-Us and SPOILED us with gifts. My mom got us the Playpen/Bassinet that we wanted, my aunt Cindy got us the Car Seat/Stroller that we needed and my Grandma got us the swing that we wanted!!!! All of the big stuff is now covered!!! WHAT A HUGE BLESSING and relief!!!

A week after my mom left, we started our Birthing Class. It was once a week for 5 weeks. Very interesting. Shawn's favorite part was the tour of the hospital. He likes to be prepared!!! We met some fun couples that are due about the same time as us. That was fun. And Shawn learned some good massage techniques which was nice for me!!! :)
We have our "Infant CPR and Safety" class in 2 weeks. Then a Breastfeeding class at the end of the month and then "Newborn Care" class the first week of July.
The big news of the month is that we had a little scare last week. I was at work last Wednesday and was having SUPER MILD cramps. I mean SUPPPPER MILD. So I called my friend Candice who is a labor and delivery nurse and she told me to stop by and see her at the hospital on my way home. I figured she would do an ultrasound like she always does just so we can see Noah. Nothing major.
Once I got there, she hooked me up to the monitors just so we could check Noah's heartbeat and stuff. We were chit-chatting for about 10 min when she says, "Ok, I don't mean to freak you out but you have had 5 contractions in the last 10 minutes so I am going to have to admit you and call your Dr."..... Um.... I FREAKED OUT!!!! I didn't even know I was having contractions. After she calmed me down, she explained that it happens to a lot of women and she could give me a shot to stop the contractions.
So I called Shawn who rushed to the hospital to find me in a gown, in a bed, hooked up to an IV and admitted into the hospital. LOL. Candice was right, they gave me a shot and within about an hour the contractions had stopped. I was not dilated at all which was a very good thing. They watched me a for a few hours then sent me home. It was just a little scare but everything is fine. It was good practive because now we know right were to go. :)
So the next day we went to see our Dr who did an ultrasound and found that my amniotic fluid is low. She said that she was not worried about me going into pre-mature labor (the tests she ran say no labor any time soon) but that she was way more worried about the low fluid. So she told me that I had to stay off my feet (yea right, I work at Starbucks). She says that my body is using all it's energy to keep my body going and not sending enough energy to the placenta to make enough amniotic fluid.
Sooo.... It looks like this will be my last week of work. I may work a few hours over the next few weeks but that pretty much ended my working days. She says that I need to be either at work or home on our couch or in our bed. It's REALLY hard to just stay put. I get bored so easy. So Shawn has to yell at me quite a bit to go relax.
The Dr said that she would most likely induce me 2 weeks early at 38 weeks if my fluid is still low. Which means we only have FOUR weeks to go which means I have a TON of stuff to get done. So it makes it even harder to stay off my feet.
Thank goodness I have the most amazing husband on earth. He cleans, cooks, works and takes care of me and the dogs. He is just perfect and I love him so much. He is getting so excited about Noah coming and it makes the whole thing so much more exciting!!!

I am HUGE... Ok, not huge but I sure feel like it. People are actually always telling us how small I am but then again, aren't people suppose to say that to make you feel better? :) I have gained 27 lbs. so far. My back is starting to hurt but it's tolerable. My feet are KILLING me which is getting pretty in-tolerable. I have to pee 5 times every night but it makes me giggle every time I have to get up because I know it means he is almost here. At least I can pee and go right back to sleep, once he gets here these nightly wake up calls will last a lot longer than a 1 minute pee. LOL. My feet are swelling up so I can only wear certain shoes. It's funny, I have little sausage toes. :) I have not been able to wear my wedding ring for about a month (I hate that) and my face is starting to get a little round.... LOL...
Noah is still in a really good position and he is not making me too uncomfortable yet. He does not kick me in the ribs or anything. He is still super active which is fun. Shawn has to help me up when I am sitting but at least I am not too uncomfortable. I am still enjoying being pregnant which is good. We love to watch my tummy rock and roll. There is nothing like it.
I am having a ton of Braxton Hicks contractions. About 1 every 15-30 minutes. It's crazy. They don't hurt but man they can stop you in your tracks. The Dr says its perfectly normal and my muscles are just practicing for labor. CRAZY!!!
My mom is planning on coming back when Noah is born. She says she is getting a one way ticket so that she does not have to stress about leaving him. She can just go home when she is ready.

Lot's of people say they are going to come visit so that will be fun. My friends Erin and Nickie both say they are coming. Then my dad is going to fly out while my mom is here. Erik and Shannon are coming the second week of August, then Shawn's parents are coming out for a week to play with Noah too! It's going to be a busy busy month that is for sure. I can't wait for everyone to meet him. What a special time it's going to be!!!!!
Well that is all I can think of for now. We go to the Dr. every week from here on out and we get an ultrasound each week (to check the fluid level) so hopefully I will have lots of detailed information coming up.
Thanks again to everyone for your love and support. You are all amazing and it means soooo much to us that everyone spoiled us and sent so many gifts for our baby shower. It was just so fun and could have only been more perfect if each of you were there to celebrate with us.
It won't be long now and this journey is going to take a crazy turn!!! Hold on... Cause here we gooo......
Love -
Shawn, Rebecca & Noah
